
The
kingdom of Bhutan is relatively small, roughly no more than the size of
Switzerland and is divided into 20 districts. They in turn are grouped into
regions: eastern, western, central and southern. These districts are:
Initially Bhutan was closed to visitors
but recently, under strictly enforced laws, some of the regions have been
opened to tourists. These regions are Eastern, Central and Western Bhutan.
Bhutan offers to the world a country packed with awesome sights and fabulous
trekking routes, all served up with a dash of culture, history and religion.
